RAA strives to cultivate a strong, Christian foundation in each child. Prayer and worship are a natural part of the ritual of life at RAA. Students attend chapel weekly. Twice a year RAA hosts a "Week of Prayer" which features guest speakers each day. Academy students (9-12) have opportunities to attend Bible conferences and weekend retreats at various places such as Leoni Meadows. RAA students look forward to annual young men & young women's retreats.
The youth pastors at two of the Redding-area Seventh-day Adventist churches are actively involved in the deveopment of RAA students. Each Wednesday they host "The Calling" which brings students together for fellowship and the planning of a variety of projects, including the presentation of special programs to other churches, community sevice projects, and field trips to inspiring places of interest such as Monterey.
RELIGION CLASS
Academy students undertake a comprehensive course in religion which spans four years. The course begins with an overview of the historical development of the Bible and its reliability while focusing on how knowing God influences relationships with family and friends. Students study the life of Christ and apply what they learn to their own lives.
As the course progresses, students learn about the history of Israel, Christ and the Church, Christianity as a world religion and the history of Adventism. The course focuses on helping each student to better know God and Christianity.
The advanced part of the course takes a more in-depth look at several books of the Bible, such as John, Romans, Hebrews, Daniel, and Revelation. Students explore real-life topics including marriage and family, world views and religions, friendship, choices, and the challenges of living a Christian life in today's world. |
