The Leadership Conference at Leoni Meadows brought 120 student leaders from the Pacific Union Conference together to hone their skills in building a leadership team and engaging students more effectively in community service and worship. RAA Principal Wayne Gungl, who attended with six RAA student leaders, says, "It was one of the most spiritually moving events I've ever been to in my life."

The Annual Science Camp at Lassen Park this September gave juniors in chemistry and U.S. history the opportunity to teach junior high students about the chemistry and history of volcanic eruptions at Lassen.  7th and 8th graders learned about lava tubes, pyroclastic flows, lava flows, hydrothermal activity, and spatter cones.  To see photos, click here.

Outdoor Education for 5th and 6th graders took place at Battle Creek Reservoir near Lassen Park.  Students climbed a cinder cone and searched for a variety of objects in a nature scavenger hunt.   In a special assignment students identified a parable in nature.  One student showed moss that was alive and healthy and moss that was black and dead.  The green moss was all connected, but the black moss was falling apart.  Her parable illustrated that when we stay connected to God, we are healthy.  To see photos, click here!
