RAA TO STAGE “A CINDERELLA TALE”
Benefit Performance Scheduled for Thursday, May 1
No other fairy tale has enchanted children through the years quite like Cinderella. Who can resist the story of a poor, mistreated beauty who finally gets the handsome young prince! Redding Adventist Academy will perform its version of “A Cinderella Tale” this year with a special benefit performance at 7:00 on Thursday evening, May 1, for the Good News Rescue Mission. This will be the fifth year running that RAA has held a special performance to benefit the Mission.“There are over 1,500 adaptations of A Cinderella Tale,” says Parent Shellie Penington who is directing this year’s musical. “We’ve written our own parody of the classic musical which will have a comedic twist.” Music for “A Cinderella Tale” is by Rogers and Hammerstein with several modern songs added.
The cast of Cinderella will feature Lizzie Gruber as Cinderella and Dustin Alexander as the Prince.
Sara Barnett will star as the wicked stepmother with Natalie Hall, Kaylee Redlich, and Gloriana Belknap playing the stepsisters. Christopher Erich and Nikkie Straub will play the role of king and queen respectively. Debbi Alexander is the music director with Debbie Milne playing piano.Tickets for the benefit are $10 and will be available beginning April 10 at the school office. Tapestry performances will take place on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30. There will be a final dress rehearsal performance for senior citizens and school children on Monday, April 28. Tickets are $3.
